timepiece
The technological evolution of time-keeping devices arguably rivals that of print technologies in its profound impact on human culture and the ways in which people think and behave. Timepiece (2015) is modelled on a Victorian era pocket-watch, the design of which has been repeatedly copied and widely manufactured in recent years. This 3D printed version positions itself as both a mass produced knock-off and a unique artwork. As a technological object, it represents a multi-temporal material embodiment of socio-historical processes.
